Job/Position DescriptionProgram Specialist IVBrief Job Description: Under the direction of the Vaccine Operatoins Group Manager and leadership of the Quality Assurance and Improvement (QAI) Team Lead, performs complex (journey-level) consultative services and technical assistance work with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment in the Quality Assurance and Improvement (QAI) Group. Work involves planning, developing, and implementing activities for the Immunization Quality Improvement for Providers (IQIP) on policies and procedures; training and education; programmatic management; Internal Quality Assurance; works with the Regional Site Review Team and communicates with staff at Texas Vaccine for Children enrolled sites.Safe operation of either a state-owned vehicle or personal vehicle is required to conduct state business and an acceptable driving record must be maintained in accordance with DSHS Policy OS-3901, Fleet Operations and Management and Procedures and standards developed by the Texas Department of Public Safety. Essential Job Functions(40%) Coordinates, directs, and implements site visit activities for the QAI Group. Compiles and disseminate Texas Vaccines for Children (TVFC) compliance notification letters to providers selected for a site visit. Explains complex policies and procedures to staff at TVFC-enrolled sites when scheduling compliance site visits that are difficult to schedule. Works with regional site visit review team to ensure TVFC policies are enforced. Contributes to the development of site visit protocols for QAI. Monitor CDC's Provider Education and Assessment Reporting (PEAR) and Immunization Quality Improvement for Providers (IQIP) dashboards to ensure site visits are conducted timely, without exceeding the CDC requirements. Provides technical assistance to regional site visit review team. Compiles written reports on the status of visits and follow-ups using Microsoft Excel and Word. Analyzes data collected during TVFC/IQIP site visits and ensures that appropriate recommendations for improvement are provided to the clinic staff. Communicates with customers verbally and in writing.(35%) Prepare and disseminate to regional site review team information on ImmTrac2 resource packets. Monitor PEAR and IQIP dashboards for the required follow-up status of site visits. Monitor PEAR to identify updates made to the program and share with teammates. Performs QA activities to improve program and works with program staff to identify and resolve technical and procedural problems. May conduct training to other staff on policies and procedures of TVFC. Participates in training and education for regional site visit staff. (20%) Compiles information and submits articles for newsletters on information that is applicable to responsible entity staff or staff at enrolled TVFC sites using Microsoft Word. Responds to customer inquiries in writing and via the telephone. Explains complex policies and procedures to regional site visit staff or staff from TVFC enrolled sites. May conduct site reviews.Assists in the creation of and maintains train-the trainer materials for use statewide. Assists with updating and maintaining policy manuals for the QAI team.(5%) Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.
