Bangor Savings Bank Distribution Specialist in Bangor, Maine

FUNCTION: Performs a variety of tasks associated with the processing, packaging, and distributing of payrolls for clients. Assists in ensuring that Bangor Payroll and its customers are in compliance with local, state and federal regulations.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Prints Client Payroll Checks and Reports:

  • Prints payrolls off the queue

  • Fills printer with report paper and check paper

  • Changes printing cartridges as needed

  • Selects payrolls on computer to be sent to printer

  • Trouble shoots printer for paper jams, etc.

Sorts:

  • Separates checks and reports

  • Matches checks to reports and puts with company folder

  • Separates according to established delivery method

Seals and Packages:

  • Follows delivery instructions

  • Accounts for correct number of checks for each client

  • Operates check sealing machine

  • Clears jams in check sealer

Distributes:

  • Prepares labels for packaged payrolls

  • Records and places packaged payrolls in appropriate location for client specific delivery service

  • Accounts for correct number of packages in each delivery method

Customer Experience:

  • Handles customer questions and service issues politely and efficiently

  • Follows appropriate procedures to solve customer problems

  • Understands company products and services

  • Phones, faxes, or emails customers with debit amounts

  • Tracks online or calls to determine reasons for late delivery

  • Responsible for delivery of misplaced or misdirected payrolls

Compliance and Control:

  • Assists in ensuring that the Bank is in compliance with local, state and federal regulations

General:

  • Attentive to detail and accuracy, committed to excellence, looks for improvements continuously, monitors quality levels

  • Interacts harmoniously and effectively with others, focusing upon the attainment of bank goals and objectives through a commitment to teamwork

  • Conforms to acceptable punctuality/attendance standards as expressed in the Employee Handbook

  • Maintains strict confidentiality

  • Performs additional duties as requested

Knowledge/Skills/Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Excellent customer service skills required

  • Demonstrated relevant computer literacy

  • Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook proficiency

  • Ability to work with little supervision

  • Good communications skills, verbal and written required

  • Attention to detail, emphasis on accuracy

Physical Demands/Conditions Requirements:

  • General office environment

  • Moderate lifting (to 35 lbs.) required. Moderate reaching, walking, sitting and standing required

  • General office equipment
