Department Description

The Division of Research in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology supports a wide range of clinical and basic science research projects related to pregnancy outcomes, gynecologic cancer and sexual health, among others. The primary responsibility of this Data Coordinator will be to oversee daily activities related to departmental projects, including coordination of data collection, data entry, database management and data analysis. In addition, the Data Coordinator will assist Principal Investigators with writing study protocols and preparing IRB applications, as well as preparing charts and tables for manuscripts and presentations. The Data Coordinator will be part of a team that includes epidemiologists and research assistants.

Essential Responsibilities:

Assists study team with study design

Assists with IRB submission

Performs initial statistical analyses on data

Coordinates data analysis plan with principal investigator and study team

Keep detailed records of data analysis process and procedures

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in epidemiology or statistics preferred.

1-3 years related work experience required.

Experience with statistical software required, including SAS.

Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in epidemiology or biostatistics preferred. 

Strong interpersonal skills and effective oral and written communication skills are necessary.

Attention to detail, along with strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently, are essential. 

Flexibility, the capacity to manage multiple tasks and openness to feedback are required.

Experience with STATA is a plus.

Knowledge: Ability to demonstrate full working knowledge of standard concepts, practices, procedures and policies with the ability to use them in varied situations.

Team Work: Ability to work collaboratively in small teams to improve the operations of immediate work group by offering ideas, identifying issues, and respecting team members.

Customer Service: Ability to demonstrate a positive attitude and respond to requests in a timely and respectful manner.

Physical Nature of the Job:

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally in carrying, lifting, pushing, pulling objects. Sitting most of the time, with walking and standing required only occasionally
