JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: COMMUNITY LIAISON
FLSA: NON-EXEMPT
DIVISION: SERVICES
REPORTS TO: PROGRAM DIRECTOR /DIRECTOR OF SOCIAL SERVICES
LOCATION: BRIARWOOD (QUEENS)
SALARY: $38,000 TO $42,000 PER YEAR
SUMMARY:
The Community Liaison will work with the Program Director to address community concerns and assist with engaging clients throughout the surrounding community. Proof of COVID-19 vaccinations required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform regular community inspections to ensure that clients are not loitering/pan handling and being disruptive within the community
Monitor outside sitting area around facility to ensure that clients are adhering the Good Neighbor” policy
Maintain and ensure that surrounding area of shelter site is clean and organized
Keep Program Director and maintenance staff abreast of findings during assessment of surrounding
Document all interactions and observations with clients throughout the course of community patrols
Maintain client tracking log
Work with local community affairs officers to monitor “hot spots” throughout the community
Meet with community stakeholders and other leadership to be informed on issues
Attend community meeting
Assist security team as needed
Attend and participate in all required agency meetings: staff meetings, house meetings, in-service training and weekly/bi-weekly case review
Perform all/other duties as directed by management.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor/Associates Degree preferred. 1-year experience dealing with homeless or special needs population. Excellent communication skills. Must be able to work in a stressful and fluid environment.
