Neighborhood Legal Services Development and Marketing Coordinator in Buffalo, New York

Organization Overview: NLS provides free legal services to low-income individuals and people with disabilities in Western New York. Substantive practice areas include housing, public benefits, family, and disability law. An annual budget of over $17 million supports 100+ staff working primarily among five offices in Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Lockport, and Batavia. NLS staff are supported by the Buffalo Office of Legal Service Workers (BOLSW) Union which covers the majority of staff including staff attorneys, staff paralegals, and support staff. Non-union staff include approximately 30 management and administrative personnel. NLS receives Federal, State, local and foundation support in the form of 40+ grants, as well as earned income through attorney’s fees and charitable contributions.Job Summary: The Development and Marketing Coordinator will work on and organize NLS’ fundraising and marketing campaigns and special events, as well as maintain NLS’ website, social media presence and assist program staff with development of brand-consistent marketing materials. This role requires superior organizational skills and the ability to prioritize responsibilities to meet various concurrent deadlines.Responsibilities DevelopmentDevelop and implement new fundraising ideas to raise awareness of campaigns to attract new supporters and increase revenue;Develop and deepen existing and new donor relationships to maximize fundraising potential and supporter retention;Assist to develop effective, high-quality communications through all relevant network channels (print, broadcast, outdoor, online, and social media) to successfully promote fundraising and capital campaigns;Help in the creation of a brand (facelift) and brand awareness through innovative ideas, digital marketing, social media, community, and sponsored events; andPlan events and deliver new activities which maximize public participation and engage different communities to attract new supporters and raise revenue. Marketing Lead on creation, implementation and maintenance of marketing and communication strategy;Develop a marketing budget and timelines for all fundraising campaigns, press and associated activities;Oversee, design and review of all marketing and communication materials from design to production to ensure they have a consistent branding and coherent message for all internal and external correspondence;Manage and develop effective communication through all social media platforms and through NLS’ website;Manage all aspects of fundraising through NLS’ CRM system;Plan and organize annual fundraising events and capital campaigns;Implement best practices to develop compelling content across owned channels (social, email, web);Edit video and virtual content to publish on website and social media channels;Develop standard operating procedures and policies to ensure that all marketing and communications projects and needs are met across units and departments at NLS;Contribute to overall look of all publication and digital materials including board communication, recruitment outreach, development, annual reports, newsletters, etc.; andContinuously track, measure, evaluate and report on the status of fundraising campaigns and achievement of communication goals. QualificationsBachelors’ degree in Marketing, Advertising, Design, Communications, or a related field;A minimum of five-years’ experience in Marketing, Advertising, Design, Communication, or a related field;Must have highly collaborative communication, strong interpersonal skills, experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Creative Suite, and Word Press;Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a keen attention to details and design aesthetics;Demonstrate strong organization and administrative skills including managing multiple deadlines and event planning;Needs creativity and innovative thinking to develop unique marketing approaches within the context of the legal profession;Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate, inspire, and build relationships across different internal departments and with external partners and vendors. Salary range is $60,000 to $85,000 depending on experience

Minimum Salary: 60,000.00 Maximum Salary: 85,000.00 Salary Unit: Yearly
