We are looking for a dedicated Survey Party Chief to grow with our collaborative team and work on a variety of mapping and land development projects.

Based in Colorado, you’ll have the opportunity to work in the field on a vast array of large infrastructure projects while using various methods of surveying.

As a Geospatial Party Chief, we will ask you to:

  • Ensure safety is always a priority, while following safety protocols.

  • Have good communication and social skills.

  • Work in the field on control, boundary, topography, laser scanning and other tasks on a one or two-person crew.

  • Primarily collect survey data using Trimble GNSS receivers, total stations, digital levels, laser scanners, and data collectors.

  • Perform field surveys in accordance with local, state and national regulations.

  • Produce clear and concise field notes and quality field data for office processing.

  • Work outdoors in variable weather conditions and challenging terrain.

  • Work without immediate supervision and make technical and procedural decisions for projects assigned within specified limits of authority.

  • Represent Jacobs in the field and always embody a professional image.

  • Be a self-starter who can work independently and who can adapt to working in a team setting.

  • Communicate with the crew and office staff about all aspects of the project.

  • Prepare daily time sheets, data logs, expense reports and field change orders.

  • Data downloads and reduction, field note reduction, calculations, and quality control reviews.

  • Perform equipment inventory and adjustments and keep current with vehicle maintenance.

  • Participate in department and field crew training.

The base salary range for this position is $25.96/hour to $40.53/hour. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Ability to travel.

  • 2 years of experience in the industry.

  • 2 years of experience as an Instrument Operator, Party Chief, or Survey Technician or related position.

  • Ability to pass drug screen and background check.

  • Clean driving record.

Ideally, you'll also have:

  • Experience with Trimble equipment and software.

  • Experience with UAV photogrammetry and LiDAR.

  • CST, LSI, or PLS certification.

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in applicable field.
