Job Description:
- The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Academic Advising Center is seeking friendly, helpful, caring and resourceful undergraduate students to serve as part of a dynamic team of peer advisors providing peer to peer academic advising to assist students with basic advising questions and serve as a resource to connect CLAS students with the Academic Advising Center and general campus resources
Essential Function:
Advise students on general advising questions including:
- Next term registration
Tracking requirements, college requirements and university requirements
Minor
Dual degree/double majors
Grad checks
Processing forms such as minors, double majors
Assist with the general advising email inbox
Run basic advising workshops such as "how to read your audit" or To drop or not"
Expected Salary:
The salary is $14.00 per hour.
Minimum Requirements:
• Current CLAS student with a minimum 3.0 GPA
• Available to work 10 hours per week
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity and understanding of how to read Degree Audits
Familiarity and understanding of how to navigate ONE.UF
Accountable Self Starter
Capable of working in a team setting
Excellent written and oral communication
Strong organizational skills
Creative and interested in learning new skills
Ability to maintain professional relationships
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information/situations with discretion
Computer skills, Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
