Description

We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in the Oil & Gas Services industry. This role is based in JACKSON, Michigan, and involves responsibilities such as Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, and Month End Close. It is an opportunity to be part of a dynamic and evolving industry.

Responsibilities:

• Handle all aspects of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy

• Maintain the general ledger by posting and balancing accounts

• Prepare and record journal entries as part of the month-end close process

• Utilize Sage 300 for various accounting tasks

• Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met

• Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities

• Continually improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions

• Maintain financial security by adhering to internal controls

• Prepare other financial reports as necessary.

Requirements

• Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Proven experience as a Staff Accountant

• Demonstrated proficiency in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Skilled in performing Bank Reconciliations

• Experience in maintaining a General Ledger

• Familiarity with creating and managing Journal Entries

• Experience with Month End Close procedures

• Proficiency in Sage 300 software is a plus

• Excellent organizational skills with an ability to think proactively and prioritize work

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Must adhere to the highest principles of confidentiality and professional conduct
