The Opportunity
We are seeking a passionate & confident Conference Producer to join the QG Media team in London! In this role, you'll collaborate with a dedicated team of events professionals to produce exciting agendas & deliver successful conferences.
What you'll be doing:
Market Research & Analysis
Building a Steering Committee & conducting in-depth phone-based research of key subject areas & topics within a specific region or industry.
Identifying the target audience & finding out what they want & need to know.
Creating a comprehensive conference briefing document & accurately briefing other staff after conducting research.
Copywriting
Writing promotional copy, in the form of a conference programme, in the language of your target audience.
Creating a relevant, thought provoking, & high-quality program attractive to an audience of C-level executives.
Ensuring that all sales-driven materials such as websites, emails & LinkedIn posts will maximise delegate interest & attendance.
Speaker Acquisition
Identifying high-level, influential industry thought leaders & inviting them to speak at the conference.
Recruiting speakers is done through various methods of communication including cold calling.
Project Management
Working with a cross-functional team from several departments: sales (delegate & sponsorship), marketing, & operations to ensure the success of the conference & that it is delivered on time & on budget.
Onsite Attendance
Attending conferences to ensure excellent delivery & smooth running on the day. This will include opening your conference.
This is an opportunity to represent the company, network & build relationships with key players & speakers within the sector, & shake hands with the people that helped shape your agenda.
What you'll bring for success
Minimum of 6 to 12 months experience in a Conference Production role
Adaptability to a variety of conferences & an ability to conduct in-depth research on various markets, topics, & trends
Experience (or interest in) communicating with clients within a commercial & professional environment via phone (including cold calling), email & LinkedIn
Excellent communication & interpersonal skills as you will be speaking with international business leaders
Ability to work independently on research & writing responsibilities while maintaining a sociable approach towards networking & persuading speakers to join the conferences
Strong copywriting & project management skills
Quick thinking & an ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines
An appetite to constantly learn & develop your skills
2:1 or above at degree level preferred
QG Media Benefits Package:
Salary: £28-£30k basic (negotiable depending on experience) + Bonus Scheme
