The International Card Services (ICS) FP&A team leads the end-to-end forecasting and financial planning processes for the ICS segment, providing decision support to Senior Finance leaders by producing P&L reports and analyses, bringing forward analytical insights, and carrying out thorough financial planning. Delivering on these key goals requires high levels of analytical rigour, financial thought leadership, knowledge of the P&L, strong collaboration across teams, and relationship-building skills.

Based in London, the Sr Financial Analyst (SFA), Analytics role will face off multiple stakeholders across BU FP&A, Market & Central Lead Financial Officer (LFO) teams, Investment Optimization (IO), Controllership, Risk and Rewards Finance teams. The main focus of the role will be leading analytical projects across P&L verticals, developing insightful financial analyses and frameworks, improving forecasting and planning models, and preparing and presenting materials for ICS Finance & Business Leadership. This is a high-visibility role with exposure to senior leaders across different Finance teams. As such, the ideal candidate must possess excellent analytical and modelling skills, strong communication and relationship-building skills, and the ability to collaborate seamlessly with colleagues across organization.

How will you make an impact in this role?

  • Lead the analytical workstream of multiple high-priority transformation projects spanning across P&L verticals (including but not limited to: CoCMS, Card Fees, OPEX & Headcount, Discount Revenue), leveraging P&L, Product and Cardmember-level data to derive insights, and improve visibility and accuracy of forecasting models

  • Produce insightful and valuable performance analysis for Finance and Business leadership, focusing on identifying key insights and risks/opportunities in the P&L

  • Develop and improve financial forecasting models, all with a continuous analytical focus on influencing decisions at the appropriate level.

  • Work across the organization, linking with key partners across ICS LFO teams to incorporate strategic insights and local knowledge into long term analytic processes.

  • Own the financial analysis for ICS Margins and collaborate with LFO partners to understand market and product financial performance drivers that support ICS outlook process, as well as supporting the Annual and Long-Range planning processes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Analytical skills, including extensive big data analytics (Cornerstone/SQL) and P&L analytics (TM1)

  • Strong financial analysis and modelling skills, with proven ability to drive analytical output aimed at identifying trends, developing key insights, and required decisions for senior management

  • Solid understanding of the P&L and of card economics

  • Superior communication skills and an ability to story tell through data

  • Highly motivated and intellectually curious, with desire to work on ambiguous and complex projects

  • Strong collaboration and relationship building skills

  • Flexibility to deal with change in a fast-paced environment, enthusiastic and able to perform under pressure to meet deadlines with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn
