Reference #: 4456894 THE POSITION The Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented psychiatric professional with experience in planning, coordinating, developing, and evaluating psychiatric services to serve as a Chief Psychiatric Officer. Duties will include the review, interpretation, and development of policies and procedures in compliance with mental health laws for the DOC. DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this role, you will be responsible for establishing and developing a psychiatric services policy and ensuring that the policy is implemented in a consistent manner across all of the State Correction Institutions (SCIs). You will also be responsible for establishing and implementing psychiatric services, standards of care, drug formularies, clinical quality, and risk management mechanisms for the department. Additionally, you will assist with developing and revising policies and procedures which standardize psychiatric care, standards of psychiatric services and psychiatric care, and treatment and intervention protocols consistent with federal, state, and other regulatory bodies.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 2 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Mechanicsburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Four years of experience in the practice of psychiatry, and Board Certification in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry. Special Requirements: All employees in this job require possession of an active unrestricted license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as issued by the State Board of Medicine or the State Board of Osteopathic Medicine. All employees in this job must obtain an active DEA registration number to prescribe controlled substances from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) as a condition of hire.
