The Bureau of DOC EEO Investigations is tasked with investigating allegations of discrimination, to include allegations of sexual harassment, at the Department of Corrections, Commission on Crime and Delinquency, Parole Board, and the Sex Offenders Assessment Board. DESCRIPTION OF WORK The Equal Opportunity Specialist 4 position is advanced equal employment opportunity work that involves analyzing and implementing policies and procedures and conducting investigations of EEO complaints involving unique, complex, or highly sensitive issues. This position also supervises staff performing advanced equal employment opportunity work in the areas of training and complex discrimination complaint investigations. You will counsel others concerning EEO laws and policies, consult with legal on pending litigation, participate in conferences and hearings, and perform a full arrange of supervisory duties. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Mechanicsburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as an Equal Opportunity Specialist 3; or Four years of professional equal employment opportunity program experience and a bachelor's degree; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.

The promotion without examination requirements are issued in accordance with merit system employment regulations. Meritorious service is defined as (a) the absence of any discipline above the level of written reprimand during the 12 months preceding the closing date of the posting, and (b) the last regular or probationary performance evaluation showing an overall rating of satisfactory or higher. Applicants must have a minimum of one ear in the next lower class by the posting closing date with no break in service.
