The Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering in the School of Engineering at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey invites applications for one full-time engineering faculty position at the Instructor rank. Successful applicants are expected to teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels of the chemical engineering curriculum, to lead service activities in student recruitment and engagement, and to contribute to the development of experiential learning opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students. The expected start date is September 1, 2024. The initial appointment is for one year and is renewable subject to enrollment needs, availability of funding, and performance.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
M.S. in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering and demonstrated excellence in teaching chemical engineering core courses.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The candidate should have demonstrated excellence in teaching core courses in the CBE curriculum, and in working with student groups both inside and outside the classroom. The successful candidate will employ evidence-based teaching practices, student-centered learning approaches, and industry relevant content in a chemical engineering context. Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, collaboration and leadership skills. Strong computational skills are highly preferred.
