Paramount Analyst, Collections - Order To Cash in New York, New York

Overview and Responsibilities

Paramount is looking for a Collection Analyst to join the team! The Analyst is responsible for maintaining a large volume Ad Sales Linear Cable portfolio, which includes managing, identifying & resolving discrepancies, along with maintaining an acceptable payment pattern and relationship with clients. This person will be challenged to use multiple collection methods / techniques in order to maximize cash flow and minimize bad debt risk. The Collector is a key player in the organization and impacts Paramount Global bottom line. The role is in the Order to Cash organization based in New York and will report to the Manager, Ad Sales Collections.

Responsibilities:

Oversee Linear Cable Collections portfolio of approx. $100M includes actively resolving discrepancies & translating to cash

Actively collect $100.0M of Ad Sales Linear receivables

Contact customers for the prompt collection or resolution of the aged receivables using email, telephone calls and more

Keep adequate records of call contacts with customers

Perform follow-ups on accounts with significant aging or past due amounts

Manage & solve customer discrepancies (ensuring proper communication with ad sales, CSRs & partners)

Meet individual cash collection targets (Aging, DSO, % of Overdue, etc.)

Provide the management team with periodic cash forecast projections

Work closely with other departments / functions to understand the specific issues causing payment delays; actively help determine the most appropriate course of action (account holds, payment plans, etc.)

Prepare routine reports for the management team,

Organize and participate in the periodic aging reviews with Director

Support customers ad-hoc requests (statement of accounts, invoice copies, backup documentation, accounts reconciliations, etc.)

Work closely with various department and play an active role during month end close activities

Ensure that Accounts Receivable ledgers are properly managed

Support the Cash Application team in the account reconciliation process (addressing cash application issues and following-up with customers on missing documentation & remittances)

Provide detailed backup explanation of AR balances to both internal & external auditors

Prepare VP Discrepancy Sheets

Provide immediate escalation of any concerns such as changes in the customers payment trends

Prepare linear refund requests

Advise Credit department in a timely manner of all accounts experiencing financial difficulties

Run, prepare and analyze various reports, including the discrepancy report, Cash package and monthly aging reports

Prepare linear month checks expected for Directors review

Work within a team environment to achieve established common goals and deadlines, including established Linear cash targets

Work on month end close jointly with NY & Buenos Aires Team which may include applying cash

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Economic preferred

3+ years of pertinent working experience in a similar role

Additional Qualifications:

General knowledge of accounting principles

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Word

Strong communication skills - oral, written, interpersonal

Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to multi-task, prioritize and deal with ambiguity

Flexibility with work schedule

Demonstrated the ability to be a great teammate and possess strong work ethic and integrity

Ability to operate in a fast paced environment and meet critical deadlines

Self motivator and innovative

Demonstrated excellent organizational skills

Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills

Collections experience a plus

Language skill a plus

Experience in cable industry a plus

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $48,800.00 - 62,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
