POSITION TITLE: Meteorologist

Reports to: Director, News & Content and Chief Meteorologist

Position Summary

KFOR/KAUT is looking for a full-time Meteorologist to produce and present the weather for the station's newscasts. This person will also be an active contributor to KFOR.com.

Primary Responsibilities

• Formulate weather forecast utilizing modeling data

• Create computer graphics & animation for presentation of weather data

• Formulate weather forecast utilizing modeling data

• Present the weather segment during the weekday newscasts and teases that air throughout the day

• Fill in for Weekend Meteorologist to cover vacation and other time off

• This position may occasionally be called on to provide reports for the newscasts.

• Involvement in community events as directed by the station

• Provide forecast information to the station’s website, social media, and other enterprises as required.

Requirements:

• Degree in Meteorology with demonstrated severe weather experience.

• Experience utilizing National Weather Service data in forecasts.

• Demonstrated knowledge and application of computer weather graphics in weather presentation.

• Demonstrated on air weather presentation skills.
