Job Description/Essential Functions:

Horizon House, a non-profit organization, has been widely recognized for its services as a provider of community-based behavioral health, intellectual disabled and homeless services in Eastern Pennsylvania and the state of Delaware. Each year, Horizon House provides a continuum of services at over 100 sites to over 4,5000 adults with psychiatric or developmental disabilities, drug and alcohol addictions, and/or homelessness. A pioneer in the field of community-based rehabilitation, Horizon House is widely recognized for its innovative approach to the delivery of services in a community setting. Currently, we are seeking full time Accounts Payable/ Purchasing Manager to work in our Fiscal Division.

The Accountant will as a liaison to other departments' staff in processing reports, training, accounting, problem resolution and other assignments under the delegation of the accounting manager.

Some duties to include:

Prepare accounts payable monthly reports and reconciliation and maintenance of related documentation. To prepare and maintain accounting records, journal entries and schedules. Process requisitions for supplies, furniture residential needs, and other products/services as determined by management; clarify specifications and research product requests; review Purchase Orders entered into the Purchase Order System. Ensure the set up and maintenance of all vendor and supplier reports and files, update accordingly. To ensure fiscal transactions are handled accurately and timely in the prescribed manner to safeguard agency resources.

Job Qualifications:

A successful applicant will have the following:

High School diploma or GED Equivalent plus a minimum of (5) years related experience (BA/BS degree preferred); or any combination of experience, education and training that would provide the level of knowledge, skill and ability required. A minimal of (3) years of supervisory experience. Excellent organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently, detail oriented. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office application such as Excel and Word. Proficient in automated purchasing and systems. Prior experience in public and/or not-for-profit setting, required. Scope: Required sitting for long periods of time. Light lifting and/or carrying, not to exceed 25 lbs.
