DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Aging Care Manager 3, Department of Human Services (DHS), Area Agency on Aging (AAA), Safety & Support Division, Protective Services Unit, under the general supervision of the Casework Supervisor, maintains, updates, and disseminates extensive knowledge of Aging Programs, services, and regulations. You will be providing technical support to Care Management and Protective Services staff, as well as providers and subcontractors, as you investigate complaints of abuse and neglect. In this role, you will be responsible for, but not limited to: Performing protective services investigations and maintaining a caseload of vulnerable older adults who need protection from abuse, exploitation, abandonment, or self-neglect Participating in training new staff members Assisting in the development of training programs and program monitoring tools Coordinating, monitoring, and following up on After Hours On-Call Program Receiving and screening Reports of Need for Protective Service Providing technical assistance regarding Act 13 referrals and the follow-up process for reporting abuse in facilities Giving informational presentations, specifically Act 13 information, to various audiences such as: Older Adult Protection Service Association (OAPSA) and Protective Services agencies Participating in public relations and other DHS/AAA sponsored activities Completing, organizing, and maintaining documentation, logs, records, and written reports Coordinating and participating in case conferencing with other law enforcement, legal, behavioral health, and social services professionals to resolve challenging or complex cases

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as an Aging Care Manager 2 or Aging Program Assessor; or One and one-half years of professional human services, law enforcement, or nursing experience; and a bachelor's degree in social sciences, behavioral sciences, human services, or a closely related field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes six months of professional human services, law enforcement, or nursing experience.
