Job Responsibilities:

This position requires an all-rounder with a strong background, primarily in Microsoft Windows Server build and support, to maintain the Organization's Microsoft Windows Server and general infrastructure.

This role will be part of the Asia Pacific Infrastructure support team based in Singapore and will report to the Manager, Technology Solutions.

This role will also be part of the TD Securities Global Windows Server Infrastructure team, reporting functionally to the Global head, that is responsible for maintaining standards for Windows server hardware as well as project infrastructure configuration and implementation for Windows servers deployed with TD Securities applications. This role will require collaboration with the global team to support the operations in North America (Toronto and New York), UK (London), in the areas of Windows servers, supporting the "Follow the Sun" model.

Working as a support representative for the Asia Pacific Region and Singapore Office, this role requires an experienced self-starter who can work well under pressure when required.

The IT Technology Solutions department is responsible for managing the company’s hardware, software and communication systems, as well as the timely and effective delivery of technology solutions.

Duties and Accountabilities

Service Customers and Support TD Businesses:

  • Assist in the delivery and maintenance of secure IT/technology facilities and technical infrastructure/architecture to support clients and applications as appropriate.

  • Provide service in accordance with established standards while minimizing operational risk.

  • Provide the level of systems and operational availability that meets or exceeds established service levels.

  • Provide timely problem determination, notification, resolution, and escalation.

  • Interact with customers as appropriate, to provide quality service and solutions consistent with project objectives and client requirements.

  • Ensure standards, policies and procedures are in place, compliant to TD’s Business Recovery Plan (BRP), to restore IT based systems in the event of a significant service disruption and/or disaster.

TD Securities Global Windows Server Infrastructure Support team:

  • Lead the hardware/Windows OS technical analysis and assessment of new client in-take requests, working closely with our technology and business partners to complete solution blueprints.

  • Ensure resulting solutions meet the needs of our business clients and stakeholders while adhering to the bank’s technology and quality standards.

  • Maintain an understanding of business and technology directions as well as technology developments and industry trends.

  • Oversee the hardware/Windows OS design, development, and implementation of solutions in partnership with application leads and architects.

  • Obtain signoff on technology solutions, ensuring the satisfaction of our business partners and technology stakeholders.

  • Attention to detail while maintaining the big picture of the project and the business.

  • Act as point of escalation for unresolved Windows Server OS and Hardware technical issues. Able to work with vendors, consultants, and partners in other TS areas to develop solutions.

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationship with the various Line of Businesses/ ITS Management

  • Required to meet and oversee agreed project objectives and timelines for designing / building / testing / deploying / decommissioning Windows servers.

  • Creating/Updating documentation as it relates to project assignments.

  • Comply with the system development life cycle (SDLC) and project management methodology (PMLC) – including development of project plans, SDP, documentation of system requirements, and estimates of scope and cost as required.

  • Ensure timely and accurate communication and resolution\escalation of issues.

  • Monitor service delivery against commitments, prioritizing work activities.

  • Follow documented operational procedures and processes with minimal guidance from the team such as equipment requisitioning, network requisition, inventory and asset management

  • Analyze day-to-day processes for areas and methods of improvement.

  • Provide technical guidance to Build team and Support staff.

Local APAC Infrastructure Support team:

  • "Hands On" tasks pertaining to the support and care of the local APAC Data Center and the Infrastructure equipment housed in APAC Data Centers (Servers, Network, Storage, Appliances etc.), such as Racking of the equipment to the equipment cabinets; Hardware Asset Inventory update and tracking; etc.

  • To be the first level support of the infrastructure housed in APAC Data Center, and to work with the Global/Enterprise Support teams such as Storage, Network, etc. to attend to incidents reported.

  • Timely escalation to the Global/Enterprise Infrastructure Support teams (Network, Storage, etc.) for incidents reporting and resolution

  • To work with the Global/Enterprise Infrastructure teams (Storage, Network, etc.) in infrastructure related projects, such as Data Center relocation etc. To be the on-site eyes hands and feet for the Global/Enterprise teams.

  • Participation in the annual disaster recovery planning and exercise

Qualifications

Specific Educational Requirements / Accreditations:

  • Expert knowledge of Windows operating system versions 2012 - 2022

  • Strong understanding of virtualization, networking, clustering, powershell, HPSA

  • Hands on hardware and software troubleshooting

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, related field or equivalent experience

Other Qualifications / Skills / Experience:

  • Excellent customer service track record

  • Minimum 7 years of experience building, deploying and administering Windows environment.

  • Expert Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and Windows Server OS issues.

  • In depth knowledge regarding HP Server Hardware (Rack mount, Blade technologies and P series), Cisco UCS HW a plus

  • Minimum 1 year of experience managing, maintain and supporting VMWare Products

  • In depth knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, Clustering

  • Knowledge of file/print environment configurations

  • Experience working in a global organisation and supporting international operations

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with proficiency in English

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously

  • Must be able to prioritize, working independently and in a team environment.

  • Familiar with change management best practices.

  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotation for out-of-hours support.

  • Highly organized and process driven.

Good to have:

  • Ansible and python programming are significant pluses

  • Google Cloud (GCP) is a plus also

  • A thorough understanding of SOX policy
