Technology Manager, Reinsurance Analytics

What the day will look like

Leadership and Project Management:

  • Manage a team of software developers and IT professionals, providing mentorship and support to foster career growth and development.

  • Collaborate with and contribute with the global analytics product development team.

  • Lead projects from conception through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

  • Hold regular team meetings to discuss progress, address concerns, and brainstorm solutions to technical challenges.

  • Implement agile project management methodologies to streamline development processes and encourage a culture of continuous improvement.

    Technical Contribution and Development:

  • Actively contribute to coding and architectural design, particularly leveraging the Microsoft technology stack (C#, ASP.NET, MS SQL, Azure, DevOps).

  • Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of software applications while ensuring compliance with system specifications and organizational standards.

  • Conduct code reviews and maintain standard coding practices among the team.

    Technology Stack Management:

  • Ensure architectural integrity and consistency across software projects utilizing Microsoft technologies and Azure cloud services.

  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, improving deployment practices and reducing time-to-market.

  • Monitor technology trends and updates relevant to our core tech stack, recommending and implementing improvements and innovations.

    Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholder groups, translating technical details into business language.

  • Work closely with other department heads to ensure technological developments align with business needs and strategies.

  • Report on technology strategy and progress to senior management.

    We are seeking a dynamic hands-on Technology Manager to build out and lead our global technology team in Singapore while actively participating in the development of our projects. This role is ideal for a technology leader who excels in managing both people and projects, and has a strong background in the Microsoft technology stack. The successful candidate will not only oversee the development team but will also contribute to coding, architecture, and ensuring high-quality software solutions while working with a global team.

    Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in software development, with at least 4 years in a managerial role.

  • Proven experience managing technology teams and software projects that focus on products that deliver complex analytics.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft technologies, including but not limited to Azure, DevOps, C#, .NET, and MS SQL Server.

  • Familiarity with implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines and containerization technologies.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a solid understanding of software architecture and design.

  • Strong leadership skills and experience in an Agile development environment.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience of product development within the Insurance industry is a bonus.
