Essential Functions of the position are detailed below:
In partnership with the Senior Vice President of the Impact Area works to develop financial budgets and projections which are reflective of the current operating environment and in alignment with the organization's strategy and targets; Recommends modifications to the operations and budget based on understanding of the current operating environment and risks
Responsible for the overall fiscal functions for assigned Impact Area to ensure that respective programs are in compliance with agency and programmatic policies and procedures, professional standards, and external requirements of regulatory, licensing, and accrediting bodies
Analyzes financial results and develops key performance indicators for assigned Impact Area; Key performance indicators should combine financial and operating statistics to provide a holistic view of the Impact Area; Presents financial results, projections and budgets in a manner which clearly identifies and communicates trends and drivers
Coaches, supervises, and develops financial team for assigned Impact Area considering succession planning and providing for continuity
Assesses the internal control environment and risks in the appropriate Impact Area. Recommends enhancements to internal controls, as appropriate, to reduce risks and works with program, financial and corporate accounting staff to implement changes
Qualifications & Skills:
A collaborative approach with a strong service approach; team player including a demonstrated ability to partner and influence at all levels in the organization
In depth understanding of accounting and finance including government and private grants and contracts
Strong analytical skills
Highly organized with proven ability to manage substantial amounts of data
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and pressure situations
Experience in not-for-profit sector
Strategic mindset
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
7+ years of accounting/finance management and supervisory experience
