Connected Devices is one of the most dynamic and interesting areas within the Clinical Research industry. The identification, strategy and management of various devices and their data ingestion modes in order to meet the endpoint goals of our customers is ever challenging and exciting. This highly visible business unit is closely connected to other trial delivery teams within IQVIA. We work closely with technology partners and our sponsor partners to help speed therapies to market in a global network. With near real time data collection and enormous volume (data received continuously for weeks & months every min or so), we are looking for individuals who will be interested to join and make a difference through their expertise in this area. When there are new device integrations and solutions in development; it’s important to understand our patients and sites and look for simpler and better solutions which ease their process. This role serves in a leadership position to support the Data operations and data strategy for the device data management. Further, the role entails driving change, managing complexity, producing high quality databases for analysis and potential regulatory submissions. In addition to team development, implementation of tools and solutions, customer interactions and issue management.

Essential Functions

  • Providing leadership of clinical data management activities across one or more programs enabling planning, coordination, and timely delivery of complete, high quality and reliable clinical trial data for regulatory approval and market acceptance

  • Lead a Functional Department of Data Management staff. Size of team could vary from 15-40, and may be a first-line or second-line management position.

  • Define and prioritize resource requirements and manage resource assignments across projects.

  • Monitor and manage utilization and productivity of Functional Department.

  • Assess and document competency of staff to satisfy position responsibilities. Regularly set goals and evaluates and documents performance. To assist Management in developing department strategy and team building.

  • Define and implement department objectives consistently with broader organization objectives.

  • Provide expert review and guidance for Data Management deliverables, database set-up, validation and programming, Data Management Plan and database deliverables to internal and external customers.

  • Provide technical advice and solutions with internal and external customers to solve problems and improve efficiency.

  • Participate in defining strategies for new processes and technology.

  • Define and implement training/professional development strategy for Functional Department.

  • Manage relationship with customer at both the project team level and with functional peers.

  • Provide operational input into proposals and scope of work. Participate in proposal defenses. Provide input to costing algorithms, particularly at the customer level.

  • Attend customer meetings and lead discussions of project requirements and strategic planning

  • Establish a highly motivated and enthusiastic global data management team, ensuring open communication and high quality work.

  • Serve as senior representative/ contact point of escalation with Sponsor. Participate in bid defense, provide input on scope and budget development.

  • Contributing to the development and application of smart systems and optimal approaches to support the collection, integration, monitoring, review, and reporting of data to simplify and enhance user experience or lead to efficiencies in execution.

  • Participating in continuous improvement activities, defining and implementing the changes required to create an industry-leading clinical data capability, including electronic data capture, external data integration, ad-hoc analysis and end-to-end data standards.

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree /in science/ bachelor’s in pharmacy or equivalent qualification.

  • Experience: 7+ years of relevant work experience including substantial people management experience; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Thorough knowledge of the data management process and experience in specialized data management skills

  • Knowledge of operating procedures and work instructions and the ability to apply them in practice.

  • Understanding of clinical drug development process

  • Previous experience and proven competence in managing delivery of project through full data management study life-cycle.

  • Knowledge of Computer application- MS Office, Clinical application, Internet usage

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal skills, communication, and data management skills and demonstrated ability to delegate appropriately.

  • Ability to exercise excellent attention to detail.

  • Manage Customer relationship.

  • Leadership and communication capabilities with a proven ability to engage, manage, develop and inspire a geographically diverse team.
