As a member of the Accounting team you will be responsible for maintaining the company’s financial records through analy zing accounting system transactions, recording journal entries, preparing standard and ad hoc financial reports, and partnering with other business teams to ensure accurate financial information. The position also provides opportunities to improve or develop new processes to improve efficiency or implement new accounting requirements while maintaining an effective system of internal controls.
Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities:
Responsible for calculating and reporting revenue, cost of sales, and gross profit for one or more business programs
Analyze and understand system transactions calculating production costing; researching and correcting issues as necessary
Maintain system cost accounting standards through analysis of various cost pools and allocation methods
Work closely with other finance and business teams review program financial results, develop and implement new processes, or assist with ad hoc information requests
Complete regular tasks related to period-end accounting close activities; including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial report creation
Ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX), internal controls, and company procedures
Fulfill requests from both Internal and External audit teams
Qualifications
Requirements
3-5 years with Bachelors of Arts Degree, 1-3 years with MBA in Accounting
3 years of experience in Corporate or Public Accounting
Advanced Excel and analytical skills, organizing and analyzing large volumes of data
Strong interpersonal relationship skills and ability to work with diverse teams at different levels of the organization
Preferred Skills
Previous cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition requirements
SAP or other ERP system
